Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to ask my students lots of questions. It helps me understand where they are starting from. It also means that they lead me through their thought process, which makes it easier to see where a student is going wrong.
I also like to make sure that my students understand how the problem-solving process works. It's not enough to figure out the answer to one specific question if you can't figure out another that's just like it.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Next semester I will be a senior at Carnegie Mellon University. I am a math major. I have also previously tutored students for the Regents Exams and the SAT Math section
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked primarily with middle and high school students
