About
I am a teacher, essayist, poet, copy-editor and musician living in Manhattan. I graduated college as a Presidential Scholar and Dean’s List Honor’s student, and completed three years of undergraduate research in pedagogy and education. I also worked as a nanny for three elementary school children and tutored them in reading and writing. I have written for various magazines and non-profits, am the assistant managing editor for Guesthouse Literary Press, and have taught ESL since moving to New York. In addition to teaching English I also have experience teaching beginning-intermediate guitar to children.
I teach as a means of serving individuals and communities. Whether through college preparedness, language proficiency, or creative development, I am passionate about equity in education. For this reason, and to the best of my ability, I work to meet students where they are financially with my rates.
I form meaningful relationships with students and enjoy teaching them in a way that is suited to their unique learning styles.
