Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed by tough topics, and my goal is to make things click in a way that feels simple and encouraging. Whether you’re preparing for nursing exams, working through math homework, or trying to feel stronger in your math class, I’ll meet you where you are and help you grow from there. We can meet at your home or local library to allow for a comfortable environment with little interruption. Or, if an online presence is more suitable, the use of Zoom or FaceTime and the online whiteboard works perfectly.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
With my background in nursing and hands-on clinical practice, I understand how challenging it can be to master complex material. Whether it’s medication calculations, pathophysiology, or dosage conversions. I focus on breaking topics down in ways that make sense and build your confidence. For math students, I emphasize practical understanding and problem-solving skills that go beyond memorization.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have a flat rate of $45 per hour session. If needed, my student and I can work together to design a unique study aid for them when we are not working together.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been tutoring in math since I was in high school, tutoring my fellow students. I have worked as an independent math tutor for 6 years and recently this year have been tutoring nursing content as well. I struggled with math material in middle school and had a tutor that made everything click. I very much enjoy being that person for other students now.
