About

I offer a variety of services. From cooking classes to social skill to increasing vocabulary. I work with students on their individual needs.

I love workig with kids! I love seeing how they learn, grow, adapt and retain. I enjoy the entire process and engage with each kid wherever he or she is at. Sometimes it is a simple conversation about a book and other times we are practicing math facts. It's different everytime.

Kim is very patient and thorough. She has worked with my 14yo and 13yo sons and both of their writing and vocabulary has improved. They both enjoy working her.

Kim knows what shes doing and my daughters love her! Upbeat, personable and knowledgeable- a refreshing departure from your run- of-the-mill tutor. Full of great ideas and advice from her eclectic background. She is our best tutor in years-and an extraordinary person.

    Frequently asked questions

I like our initial visit to be a "getting to know you". I want to know what the parent/student wants and how best to support the student so success is obtainable.

I have a BA in Journalism from the College of New Jersey. I have been published in national magazine and medical trade publications for the past 2 decades.

I charge $60 per 1 hour session. Up to 3 children in the same family are covered in that fee.  I require a booking and payment of 3 sessions after the initial meet and greet.

I am not a teacher. I am a journalist. I started working with students intitially to increase vocabulary then moved on to comprehension. I have hosted cooking classes, social skills meet ups, math fact practice sessions, games club and reading improvement.

I have worked with a wide range of students. Those on the ASD, those with hearing and vision loss, ADHD, and lack of motivation.

I have a child I work with. He is deaf and blind. He Cochlear Implants and can hear. He is extremely motivated but needs clear consise communication. I am proud to have made such headway with him. We have developed a nice relationship and we work together well.

The student must buy into the need for a tutor first and foremost. Next, the student should feel and engagement with the tutor. If they don't mesh it is just not goign to work. go with your gut.

Students should not have to think through their needs before talking with their teacher. The teacher should have an idea that a student is struggling.
