About
I am really good at teaching people in a different way than most teachers. I understand science and math very well and would be able to walk through things very well. I also will refresh myself with the material before I meet with you. I was a human biology major at Chadron State College going into pre med before changing to computer science at UNO. During the time I was there I helped a lot of people through problems they were having and helped them succeed in the courses. I have also taken several online courses by myself on how to learn and with that I will hopefully be able to pass the skills on to you. Not only will I help you through your course, but I will give you the skills you need to help you with other challenging courses in the future!
I am very good at talking to new people and I am patient. I am not easily frustrated and I hope that I can make the learning process fun. Sometimes all it takes for you to learn the stuff better is just another person to help walk you through it.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically the most important thing to do is to help them with the material they are currently on. I want them to help them understand it clearly because if they are coming to me, they are probably slightly behind. I want to get them caught up quickly and after they are caught up I want to help them learn how to teach themselves. Because if they have to rely on coming back to someone for every course after this, then I feel like I have failed them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken many science and math courses at Chadron State College including Chemistry 1 + 2, Organic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, MicroBiology, Cellular Biology, Genetics, Human Anatomy, Human Physiology, Physics 1 + 2, Calculus, Statistics, College Algebra, and courses on how to learn. I have learned Java, HTML, and PERL through UNO. During all of these courses I have spent time with my classmates helping to teach them and understand the material that they are trying to learn.
