I love to work with students and find what parts they are struggling with. From there, I am really good at working through examples and finding what works for each student the best. No student is the same, and they each need individualized plans and examples until we get to a point of in-depth understanding.
I enjoy working with students and seeing their progress. I love it when a student really isn't understanding something, but after we work through a couple of examples, they are able to do it by themselves. I love the look of pride on their faces when they get a problem that they were really struggling with. I love to see them happy and understanding the subject.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I always start with the material that the student is learning in class. From there, we can focus on that material, or we can find other problems that may be coming from earlier misconceptions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently working on my degree in Mathematics, but I have enough experience to be able to help those struggling with math at the middle school and high school level.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Depending on the distance that I would need to travel, I have usual standard rates. I am also willing to work with the family to find a reasonable rate or location that works for them. Getting the student the help that they need is more important than the rate.
How did you get started teaching?
I started working as a tutor in high school at a Volunteers of America Youth Center. From there, I have worked for other tutoring companies as well.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ranging from age 7-17, so I have worked with a variety of ranges.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Before coming to ask questions, I would make sure you know what you are struggling with. It is easiest to work with a student if we have a starting point of what the problem is and then we can work through it. It is hard to try to find the problem without knowing what the student finds confusing.
