About this tutor

Nearly 15 years experience and tutored hundreds of high school and college students in core math and science subjects including Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Algebra I and II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, SAT, and ACT.

Helping students get through difficult courses and see them do well is rewarding. I was (and still am) a math and science student, and I know these courses can be very tough. I genuinely enjoy math and science. Chemistry is my favorite science subject, while Pre-Calculus is my favorite math subject.

Angie is very professional and takes the time to make sure you understand the material. She even takes the time outside of the scheduled tutor hours to assist if necessary . I would certainly recommend her . She tutored me through A&P2 & microbiology

I was struggling with chemistry for awhile and couldn't find a good tutor, however once I worked with Angie that changed. She is very knowledgeable on chemistry and explains the content so that it is easy to learn and pick up. Angie is flexible with the schedules, and also very nice and welcoming! I would definitely recommend Angie for tutoring!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a BS in Biology from UT Dallas. I'm pursuing a graduate degree in Health Informatics. I've clocked roughly 15,000 hours tutoring and worked with hundreds of students over the past nearly 15 years. This includes mainly 1-on-1 tutoring and also some small group and classroom tutoring.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Pricing varies and depends on subject and how often the tutoring sessions are held.

How did you get started teaching?

I joined the AVID program at Plano ISD in 2007 as a work-study student, when I was attending University of Texas at Dallas, and worked with AVID for nearly 4 years. I continued tutoring 1-on-1 after I left the program in 2010.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have mostly worked with middle school, high school, and college students.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

When my daughter Sophia was born on Mother's Day 2019!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The tutor/teacher should have thorough subject knowledge, be kind and flexible, and have good availability. Tutors and teachers should genuinely like the subjects they teach as well.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Students should get an idea of how often they want or need to study for the class. They can ask the tutor for additional practice questions.

Sometimes, due to time constraints, only certain questions or problems can be reviewed during the session. So make sure to star or highlight the questions that really need to be reviewed.
