Angie is very professional and takes the time to make sure you understand the material. She even takes the time outside of the scheduled tutor hours to assist if necessary . I would certainly recommend her . She tutored me through A&P2 & microbiology

Not only is Angela knowledgable on the subject matter, but she was able to teach in a way that resonated with my learning style. She empowered me to earn high grades in a subject that I was struggling with. I saw her manage several students at a time with a multitude of subject matters and she was always patient and kind.

Angie is the best. Very perceptive and good directions on guiding someone versus just telling the answers. She makes them think and is always very supportive. She also is very good at accommodating on schedule. Would highly recommend. She is the best. Used primarily for Algebra Ii and Geometry but good on other subjects, too.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The tutoring process is designed to ensure a smooth and personalized learning experience for every new student. To get started, simply fill out a brief New Student Form on my website. Afterward, I'll reach out to you to gather more information about your background and preferences. We'll schedule convenient meeting times and locations, or set up the online tutoring option. As a bonus, new students have the option to receive an additional half-hour during their first session, allowing us to discuss introductions, set goals, and tailor our approach to your unique needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a B.S. in Biology from University of Texas at Dallas (2011) and a Master's in Healthcare Administration from Capella University (2023). I've clocked over 15,000 hours tutoring and worked with hundreds of students over the past nearly 20 years. This includes mainly 1-on-1 tutoring and also some small group and classroom tutoring.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Standard hourly pricing is $50/hour.
How did you get started teaching?
My journey into teaching began during my time at the University of Texas at Dallas, where I served as a work-study student with the high school AVID program (Advancement Via Individual Determination) for 4 impactful years. It was during this experience that I discovered my passion for helping students reach their full potential. Since those formative years, I have continued to tutor both one-on-one and in group settings, accumulating a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to educational empowerment.
What types of students have you worked with?
My tutoring experience spans a diverse range of students, primarily focusing on high school and college/university levels, typically ages 15 and up. Over the course of nearly two decades, I have successfully guided these students through their academic journeys, assisting them in achieving their educational goals.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Mother's Day in 2019 marked the joyous arrival of my daughter, Sophia. In the summer of 2023, I achieved a significant milestone by graduating with my Master's degree.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It's essential to find a tutor who possesses thorough subject knowledge, is kind, flexible, and available to support your learning needs. A genuine passion for the subjects they teach can make the learning experience not only effective but also enjoyable.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I recommend students to reflect on their study habits, including how often they need to study for the class. It's helpful to compile a list of specific questions or topics that require additional clarification. Prioritize the questions by identifying key areas that need focused attention, such as those crucial for homework, quizzes, and exams. This proactive approach ensures productive and tailored tutoring sessions.
