About
I have been teaching for 25+ years and I have taught about every age, from preschool to adult. I really enjoy the one-on-one experience now because I can get to know my student better and find out exactly what he/she needs. I also have worked with couples or brothers/sisters at times as well. I am also flexible on times (when needed) and open to working things out with each student so it works for both of us.
I love each person's unique needs - it gives me a challenge and I love customizing a program for each one, whether it is working through a pronunciation book and practicing conversation, or reading for comprehension and learning new vocabulary. I work with a variety of ages too, so I could be working with elementary students one hour, and an adult the next, and it keeps it interesting for me.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually talk to them on the phone or at a free in-person consultation about what their needs are and their timeframe and budget. I find through some questions or diagnostic tests what level they are at (for ESL students) and then we make a plan going forward. We usually meet 1-3 times a week, ongoing as long as they want to. SAT students are usually 6-10 weeks, but English or French students can work with me for a few months to longer as they need my services. There are no contracts - just a mutual interest in moving forward.
I like the variety of students that I have taught - from many parts of the world, and in many different areas of life, from elementary to adult students.
Every new student gives me a new experience, and makes me a better teacher.
