I am currently a EC teacher for 6th and 7th grade autism and behavior students. This means children with an IEP or 504 plan I have extension experience with. I know how to modify lessons to a student and how to get work done with the students. I teach all subjects this year. Last school year I instructed all middle school ages in the same small group setting. My back ground is science based but I have a passion for ELA
I have a PRAXIS 5543 mild to moderate
I am certified for young school aged Autism instruction

I like having a conversation with the parent as well as the student. Figure out what the goal is and what the student is interested in. Making learning fun is how I keep my students interested.
I have been employed as a teachers assistant or a paraprofessional (in other states) for 2 years now. And I was a substitute teacher for 2 years before that
I would price my sessions at $15 an hour or $30 a session if it goes longer than 2 hours.
My degree field is in my alma maters college of education. I also have a minor in Special ED.
I have taught all ages 1st to sophmore. I have personally instructed 5th through 8th as a paraprofessional. All my middle school students have IEPs or 504 plans. That means anything from ADHD to low functioning Autism.
I have two students working hard on their math skills. One has lower functioning autism and he has mastered 3 x3 subtraction and the other has up to her 5 times tables.
label your feelings when you have difficult times understanding in school. Can your tutor modify the work to help you understand it better.
