About
I am a licensed math teacher with 10 years of experience, a coach, fitness instructor, and tutor. I have taught all core subjects grades 3-8. I am available for tutor, teen lifecoach/mentoring, and teen fitness training.
I love motivating others to reach their full potential and strive to be their personal best. I think through finding strengths and building confidence we can truly achieve anything.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin with a quick warm up and introduction of myself and learn a little about the student followed by an informal assessment to gather data and find strengths and next steps. Using this information and any data, previous tests, assignments, etc from parents we develop a plan.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Highly Qualified NC Teacher with ten years experience in the classroom and as a tutor. I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Sessions range from 45-60 mins at $45-$60 depending on needs.
How did you get started teaching?
Through my undergrad study in psychology I began working with children for longitudinal research projects and realized I wanted to become a teacher.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with ESL and refugee students at a newcomer's school for first year citizens to the US, I have worked with students with ADD, ADHD, PANDAS, dyslexia, dyscalclia, and disgraphia. I have worked with students that need a little extra practice to get caught up to grade level and students that are on level and want to push themselves a little harder.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have led five internation service trips with middle school students and coached cross country for several years. I also teach Pilates and indoor cycling! I have a golden retriever puppy named Fletch
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
To look for someone that can explain things in a variety of ways and will nudge you just enough out of your comfort zone.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What can I figure out on my own? What do I need help to figure out? What terms are confusing me? What point do I understand up to? What is something I've learned in the past that is similiar to this? What tools do I already have to solve this?
