I have tutored students throughout middle school, high school and college. Through the last 10+ years, I have received excellent feedback from those that I have helped. During high school, I was involved in the after school tutoring club, which helped students pass classes that we have as tutors have already taken and received a B+ or higher in the course. While in college, I conducted SI (supplemental instruction) through the university. SI sessions were held for students who struggled in their course and needed help narrowing in on rigorous course material, and areas of the chapters that needed extra attention. During this time, students scores averaged about 16 points higher on exams, increasing their overall score at the end of the semester by a whole letter grade!
I am very interested in science, mainly anatomy and biology. My goal is to obtain a doctorate degree in physical therapy and work with athletes coming back from injuries. I was a substitute teacher for Orange County Public Schools, and I am currently a substitute teacher for Guilford County Public Schools. I have been known to help students in both math and science based courses. I have just recently moved to Greensboro NC to further my education, and have also accepted a position at Randolph Health as a physical therapy aide in order to further my knowledge and gain experience in physical therapy. I look forward to helping you in your science and math courses!
I enjoy helping individulas get a better undertnading of the material by breaking it down into a form that they are able to easily undertand and apply. I live for that "aha" moment when a student finally makes that connection. I have tutored students throughout middle school, high school and college. Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process is to establish a firm line of communication with students.
After that I like to take an individua approach and learn what the students wants and needs are from the tutorin sessions I provide. I typically have the student send specific topics and powerpoints to my student email, so we are reviewing the information together and so I can review before meeting with the student.
