Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Learn about them, what makes them tick, how they learn, where they are at in class, what the issues are, how they see me as helping them, and go over expectations.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned a BS in chemistry on the premed track with a BMB concentration and a math minor with a 3.76. I was a D1 XC and track runner as well.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$10 for an hour the first time with introductions and coming up with a plan. And then $25 for each hour of time spent afterwards in other meetings.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I loved my calf 3 professor at VMI-he made math fun and knew when the class was struggling with a concept and when to tell a story for a quick mental break or explain in another way.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are you struggling with exactly? Are you paying attention in class (so many people fell asleep freshman year and wondered why they were failing-staying awake almost guarantees an 80%)? Are you putting in effort into homework?
