Hello! My name is Susanna Olson. I love helping kids develop their natural curiosity and get excited about learning. Wherever your student is, I want to help them get excited and move ahead stronger!
The most rewarding thing about tutoring is the opportunity to participate in a student's journey of discovery. I love witnessing that "aha" moment when a student clicks with a concept they have been struggling with.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before my first tutoring session, I consult with you about where your student is struggling the most and what your goals are for hiring a tutor. Once I understand your student's situation and needs, I create a custom plan for how to proceed to make the most out of tutoring sessions.
In my first session, I will start by "interviewing" your student. With younger kids I like to make this as fun as possibe by pretending that they are famous and I am interviewing them for a TV show. By getting to know my student's hobbies, favorite books, and favorite movies, I can cater my tutoring to capture their imagination.
