What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to meet the student and his/her parent to discuss the most-needed areas of improvement. It’s helpful to review some writing samples if any are available. Then I formulate a plan for the next few sessions. Usually, the first session may also include a grammar diagnostic assessment or a basic reading strategy.
