I am a certified teacher that has real classroom experience at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. Not only can I help your child with the academic content, but also study skills and how to navigate the school system and expectations.
I love teaching! Although I get to teach in a classroom everyday, tutoring is especially rewarding for me as I get to work one-on-one with a student for an extended period of time.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know a bit about the student, and watch them work. I believe it is the tutor's job to find out where the student is, where we want them to be, and adapt to that specific student to help create an appropriate path.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified teacher with over a decade of experience. Currently, I teach math and science at East Cary Middle School, but I have also taught and tutored at the elementary and high school levels. Additionally, I have worked for Kaplan Test Prep teaching SAT classes.
How did you get started teaching?
I have wanted to be a teacher my entire life! As a child, I loved to play "school" and always took on the role of teacher. I would write up report cards for my friends. :-)
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages, from 6 - adult. As a classroom teacher, I have worked with all types of students. As a tutor, I frequently work with students with ADD/ADHD and/or learning disabilities.
