What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I have a conversation with the parent and/or student to determine if we would be a good fit for each other.
The next step would be to take my assessment, to see where they currently stand, and where the gaps in their knowledge are. Based on this, we put together a practice plan tailored to their goals and their schedule.
Then we get started! As we progress, they will receive ongoing assessments and reports showing progress, and areas for continued improvement.

How did you get started teaching?
It's hard for me to believe, but I've been teaching for over twenty years! I got started tutoring in high school. Then in college I was asked by my professors to tutor peers that weren't doing as well.
I taught throughout grad school, and I went on to teach in colleges and high schools. Ultimately though, I found meeting the needs of each student individually was my passion.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with middle and high school students, as well as college students of various ages and backgrounds. While many of my students have specific learning disabilities, I believe all learners benefit from an individualized approach.
