About
If you or your child is struggling with Math, know that you are not alone.
I have a unique process that I've honed over my 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I identify the specific knowledge gaps that are holding students back, and then create customized assignments and assessments to target each problem area. Together we close gaps in their knowledge, and then build from there. Soon, students are able to tackle any problem with confidence.
Of course, I offer all perspective clients a free consultation. And if after the first session either one of us believes that I am not a good fit, I'm happy to refund your money.
After teaching in high schools and colleges, I found that tutoring one-on-one was my true passion. Not everyone learns the same way, and this makes teaching 20-30 students all at once extremely difficult.
Tutoring is, therefore, more effective. I can tailor the lesson to meet the individual student's needs. I love it when I can take a student who is struggling and frustrated, and transform them into a confident learner. It is by far the most rewarding job I've ever had. I absolutely love what I do.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I have a free-of-charge conversation with the parent and/or student to determine what they struggle with, and where they are in their coursework. In that conversation I get an idea for where the student is currently, and what their goals are.
Then we start tutoring! Today I tutor exclusively online.
Throughout the process the student will receive:
— Personalized instruction based on individual learning styles
— Specific lesson plans tailored to specific goals
— Additional materials and exercises to help reach those goals.

How did you get started teaching?
I've been teaching for a long time. I got started tutoring in high school. Then in college I was asked by my professors to tutor peers that weren't doing as well.
When I left graduate school I went on to teach in colleges and high schools. Ultimately though, I found meeting the needs of each student individually was my passion.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with middle and high school students, as well as college students of various ages and backgrounds. While many of my students have specific learning disabilities, I believe all learners benefit from an individualized approach.
