About
To me, math is not just numbers. Math is a series of patterns and logic. With my service, the student will gain a better understanding of why mathematical formulas make sense and the significance of them. By this, I mean my teaching style is not to do an example, but walk them through my thinking process. This allows students to develop a mathematical process that can help them overcome even the most difficult problems.
In a more logistical sense, I have a tablet in which I can write on and mathematic software that allows me to develop my own animations and graphs to help solidify the concepts being taught.
I enjoy math---but not because I understand it. I enjoy mathematics because I understand its underlying logic. Not only that, but I love helping others understand and view math in a similar way. To me, it is just as important as getting the student to understand the math as well as being able to compute a final answer.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
My typical process is, to begin with talking about the students' needs, their deadlines, and what they expect of me. With that, we can begin to formulate a better plan on what each session should consist of. I believe for math, understanding conceptually should always a priority as well as being able to apply that concept in multiple applications.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated valedictorian of Northwest Rankin High School, and I am currently studying Computer Science and Mathematics at Columbia University, NY. I had a very rigorous course load but still maintained a high GPA. I have taken AP Statistics, AP Calculus, AP Computer Science, AP Chemistry, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP US Government, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Language. I have scored well on all AP exams, and on the ACT. Primarily in the math section, I have scored a perfect 36.
I have also set up numerous tutoring programs in both NWR high and NWR middle. Though I was primarily a coordinator for these programs, I also participate in tutoring students.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have a standard pricing system. We can discuss what works best for you. Usually, I charge $10 an hour.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ranging from first grade to freshmen in undergraduate programs. I can teach up to Multivariable Calculus. I do not have any preference; I love teaching any age!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would tell the student to make sure the teacher cares about the subject. If the teacher is not fond of the subject, then the student will not be taught to the fullest degree. Teachers that teach that they love can find new connections in their subject that are not easily visible to most.
