I am a current 8th grade math and algebra teacher! I am energetic and knowledgable. I have worked with a variety of students as low as 4th grade. I am happy to help you or your child be successful and build confidence in math and beyond!
I love working with students of all ages! I love the curious ones, the struggling to understand, even the ones that think math is not for them! I love changing their minds and opening their eyes to new methods and thinking that works for them! I love the real world application piece, how it could affect their lives or be used by a middle schooler or in the future when they are looking for a career!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student I usually like to review the content they are working with, review some of their previous work, observe them working alone and speak with the student, parents, and teacher if necessary in order to address the students needs the best I can. I treat each student as an individual and meet them where they need in order to make them successful!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Middle School Math and Education. I am a current 7th/8th grade algebra and math teacher and have worked with students from 3rd to 10th grade in math. I have worked with all types of students and needs; I even got to teach in Belize for a month!

How did you get started teaching?
I found my love for teaching early as the oldest child of many siblings and cousins. I went on to college and got involved with a middle school girls mentoring program and that in conjunction with my love of math I found my path to middle school education. I have loved it ever since.
