Tutoring Without Tears
About
I love it when a student suddenly experiences that 'Eureka' moment, and you just know that they truly understand. It is such an empowering feeling. I don't merely help with homework. I teach student HOW to learn based on their individual strengths. I encourage questions. There is no such thing as a stupid question.
I was a Speech/Language Pathologist for 30 years in the public schools. For the past 6 years I have tutored as a contractor with Varsity Tutors in addition to my own private clients. I have experience working at all levels, from Early Childhood Special Education on through High School and college.
I focus on the following subjects: special education, reading mechanics, reading comprehension, writing, study skills, and general problem solving. I have additional experience working with people on the Autism spectrum.
