I have a passion for education both as a student and as an educator. I bring that passion to every class! I also incorporate my students passions into their lessons so they are able to walk away with concrete meaningful knowledge that they can build on for years to come.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education K-12
Certification in the areas of
* Elementary 1-6
* Early childhood birth -5
* Math K-8
Master degree in Education with an emphasis on Reading & ELL
7 years experience working with Kindergarten through Fourth Grade Students
Experience tutoring online grades K-8 for 5 years

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Meet with students and parent to get a clear picture of what their goals or expected outcomes of the tuturing. This ensures we are all on the same page and the classes go smoothly.
Send out or ask the student what their interests are in all areas of life so I can use this information to incorporate that into their lessons.
Send out or discuss at first meeting a lesson plan. I like to send out for parent review before the first lesson in case they have any questions or concerns that we can talk about before the lesson. I find this keeps lesson time all for learning!
