Reading And Writing Expert

Greetings! I have been tutoring high school and college students in reading and composition for eleven years and have been teaching English composition and literature courses at the college level, including dual enrollment courses, for nine. I hold Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and the University of Miami, respectively. Teaching at a public university, a private university, and two community colleges during my career has allowed me to instruct a vast array of students from all backrounds, including those with learning disabilities and ELL students.

While my academic training focused on literatures of Early Modern England and early America, I have taught a broad range of courses, including Introduction to Literature, Western Literature, and English Composition of all levels, including Developmental Reading and Writing. I am currently teaching at John A. Logan College and was recently awarded a student-nominated Excellence in Teaching Award.
