I worked with Karen for 2 semesters: both Acct 210 and Acct 211. She was extremely knowledgeable about both subjects and she was very easy to work with. She responds quickly to messages and works with your schedule. Very reasonably priced and well worth every penny! Glad Im done with the classes, but definitely will miss our weekly meetings!

Frequently asked questions

I discuss with the student their goals and their struggles. At the first session, I assess their strengths and weaknesses, so that I can plan for future sessions.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Accounting. I have taken Math courses through two semesters of College Calculus.

I typically charge about $40 an hour, but I am always willing to make adjustments or offer discounts so that students can get the help they need when their budgets are tight.

I helped a classmate with high school Algebra, and I taught my 5-year-old brother to read. I found that I really enjoyed teaching one-on-one. Eventually, I decided to focus on tutoring, and not classroom teaching, so I did not pursue getting teacher certification.

I have worked with preschool, grade school, high school, college, and adult learners. Some were better prepared than others, and some were more motivated to succeed.

Math is one of my specialties, and my advice would be not to think that a teaching certificate provides proof of competence at teaching. You may need to try more than one tutor before finding a good fit.

What are the student's goals and frustrations? What do they believe to be their greatest hindrances?
