About

I explain the material in a clear and easy to understand way. I walk students through all the steps involved. I make sure that my students thoroughly understand the concepts and can solve the chemistry problems they encounter whether it be on their tests, quizzes, homework, etc.

I teach chemistry, physics, and physical science at North Central Missouri College where I am a full-time faculty member. I teach both on-ground and online classes.

I teach and tutor online so I am available to tutor students in all parts of the US.

I have over 20 years of teaching and tutoring experience at the college and high school levels.

I really enjoy seeing my students have a "lightbulb" moment when they understand and master a difficult or otherwise confusing topic.

Many of my former students have advanced to successful careers. I truly feel fulfilled when they reconnect with me and tell me how much they have benefitted from my help.

He was very accessible for emergency or last minute sessions during finals. My son really struggles with math. After a few sessions his test grades improved from an “F” to a “B”.

Jeff did a great job of helping my daughter with her college Chemistry class. I am sure that is why she got an A in it. She was having difficulty understanding the topics and he explained the material so that it was clear to her. My daughter will be working with him again when she takes her next chemistry course. I would certainly recommend him to anyone who wants to do well in their chemistry courses.

    Frequently asked questions

The student or student's parents contact me and I will respond promptly to setup a mutually convenient time for tutoring.  I strive to accomodate "last-minute" tutoring requests, but it is always a good idea to contact me sooner rather than later.

I teach full time at North Central Missouri College.  I teach the following courses:

Introduction to Chemistry, General Chemistry 1 and 2, Organic Chemistry 1 and 2, Introduction to Physics, College Physics 1 and 2, General Physics 1 and 2, and Introduction to Physical Science.

I have a M.S. degree in chemistry from UCLA and a B.S. degree in chemistry from UC Berkeley.

I have written a review book for AP Physics and have been a contributing author in Barron's MCAT Prep book.

$50 per hour.  Many of my students and parents prefer the 10 hour pre-paid package for $400.  Payment is through PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle.

I was a peer-tutor at UC Berkeley during my senior year.

I have worked with all types of students: middle school, high school, traditional and non-traditional college students, and adult learners.

I really like doing demonstrations for my on-ground chemistry classes.  My favorite demonstrations are the thermite reaction and "whoosh-bottle".  Those really excite my students.

Try to be as specific as possible when communicating with a teacher.
