Homework Helper (K Through 8)
About
Hello!
Helping children with their homework at home- especially during online classes- can be a tedious process. All parents want their child to succeed, but without the proper techniques or insight, teaching kids to learn can be a challenge.
I've worked with children for seven plus years, and volunteered in reading coach programs for underpriviledged kids. Growing up, I often had to complete my assignments by myself or sometimes with a stranger over YouTube. I understand how frustrating that is, so providing catered help and care to your child's problem areas is my number one priority.
My approach to learning is teaching kids how to think, not what to think. Instead of memorization, I provide children with problem solving techniques they can use when I'm unavailable to help.
What I enjoy about helping kids is seeing that moment when a child lights up as they finally understand the concept.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I familiarize myself with their problem areas, and how they currently prefer to learn. Sometimes, the environment and methods a child uses to study can create a huge improvement. I also like to meet with parents and discuss concerns they have with their child.
