Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I like to get to know the student and find common ground so we can get off on the right foot. English is used in all kinds of media, so I like to spur a passion within the student by bringing in something they care about, be that a movie, a video game, a song, or something like that. It's a great way to delve immediately into the content while still testing out the current level of the student without overwhelming them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am currently finishing my degree in English, with honors, and I have also had multiple poems and short stories published.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
$25 to start, pricing can vary based on requirements. Reading comprehension and essay editing remains at $25, while grammar work moves to $35.
How did you get started teaching?
I began tutoring fellow students in middle school and continued on throughout my high school and college career.
