About
I am passionate about helping students with all facets of Language Arts. I was trained by Lucy Calkins, the founder of the Reading and Writing Workshop model from New York's Columbia University. Tutoring reading and writing across all genres is what I love.
Making reading and writing accessible to all regardless of their skill set. I have a Master of Teaching degree and hold three cerifications: New Jersey elementary and secondary education and Missouri B-6 with a Language Arts specialty grades 6-12.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Getting to know the student and "what makes them tick" is important. I like to relate to the individual and make them feel comfortable in order to have a mutual respect and understanding/ comradery. I then want to know what the student thinks they struggle or need help with and what they would like to improve. A clear set of goals upon meeting are paramount in the student's ultimate success.
