About

As a biochemistry major, I have a strong background in a multitude of high school- and university-level STEM subjects (biochemistry, biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, calculus, and various sub-disciplines of these). In college, I was appointed Assistant Academics Chair for my fraternity and was responsible for upholding a performance standard for all new members. I accomplished this through close observation of student performance while simultaneously providing counseling and tutoring to struggling members. By practicing with students and teaching them how to rationalize through complex problems on their own, we were able to see a significant improvement in multiple individuals' academic performances. This provided a unique experience where I was exposed to students with vastly different learning styles, and I was challenged to tailor my approach to fit those individuals' needs. Fortunately, I have received remarkable feedback from fraternity members and classmates, alike, on my ability to explain difficult subject matter in a way that is easily understood by students of varying exposure to the material. I have been able to achieve some success in my own academic career, and I am excited for the opportunity to help others succeed in theirs.

    Frequently asked questions

Initially, I like to begin by setting up an introductory meeting where I can get a feel for the student's particular needs, individual interests, and expectations for our tutoring sessions. Then, based off of what I learned from the student, I will tailor the lessons to that student's specific needs.

I have a degree in biochemistry from the University of Missouri. Additionally, I have been awarded multiple stipends to conduct basic (fundamental) biochemical and biomedical research as an undergraduate student. After college, I continued gaining experience in biomedical research as a research technician in the Department of Vascular Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine.

Pricing will vary depending on the subject being taught, age of the student, whether sessions are to be conducted in person vs online, special requests which necessitate a significant increase in workload or travel time, etc. Pricing for lower level/introductory courses will begin at $35/hr.
