What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I typically would ask what their preferred method of learning is. I also would like to see what their thought process for solving problems is initially so I am able to teach them in a way that doesn't contradict their way of thinking. This allows the student to learn and retain learning material easier.
I will of course use the typical niceties to create a proper and professional learning environment. I hope to create an open and amicable relationship with the student such that they are comfortable asking any questions necessary for their learning experience.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over my years from middle school through college, I've been an impromptu tutor for many of my fellow classmates, helping them learn and understand concepts. I have always been a fast learner.
I have also trained new airmen at my job as an aircraft electrical and environmental system maintainer.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I am currently starting at a low price of 20$/hour as this will be the first time I will be financially compensated for my tutoring.
How did you get started teaching?
I started in middle school tutoring many of my classmates as I was able to quickly learn and understand lesson concepts. I continued tutoring through college.
What types of students have you worked with?
So far, I have mostly just worked with my peers, but I hope to expand my horizons.
