K-12 Math Tutoring/K-6 All Subjects

I have taught Elementary math all the way up through High School math, and worked for Scantron (yes, the bubble sheet company) creating mastery level assessments and content for grades K-12, as well as working on international exams and standardized tests such as the ACT and ACT Aspire series. I am currently a licensed teacher for K-6 Elementary Education and 6-12 Mathematics. I also have my Master's degree in Curriculum and Insurtuction, with a focus in online learning.

Honestly, I was never a student who ‘just got it’ with math, and I feel that’s what has helped me succeed so much as a teacher and tutor, because I am always looking for fun, engaging, and unique ways to help students learn! I love learning about children and what type of learning they are most comfortable with (auditory, visual, or kinesthetic) and tailoring my lessons to their specific needs for growth and engagement! With my students I create fun projects to see the relevance of math in every day life, make up goofy songs for fun facts, and provide structured notes for easy, specific steps to use to solve problems. I’m happy to provide my own curriculum for student enrichment or use whatever school curriculum or specific class materials are already being utilized. I’ve learned and taught both ‘old school math’ and common core, so I have plenty of strategies to help students learn!

On a personal level, I’m also a wife and mama to my own two little kiddos, so I know how important it is when you just want the very best for your child.

I love empowering students and watching to see their joy when they finally feel they've overcome something difficult! It not only teaches them to persevere in school, but also in life!
