I grew up with a learning dissability as well as ADHD and instead of giving up and letting it take over I overcame and surpassed my goals falling in love with learning. Because of these challenges I know many different types of learning styles and can find what best works with each person. I hope to give anyone I can help that same feeling.
I have been tutoring for the past couple years and have had much success with it, I have either gone to houses and tought or gone to a meeting ground.
I have not graduated high school as of yet, but I am currently Enrolled in PSEO and going to Normandale Community College. Because of my academic success I was able to do full time college my senior year of high school. I am also able to do act prep if needed I got a 28 on my ACT's. I also have gotten the Academic Scholar award 2 years in a row from Lakeville South High School.
I promise I will do a top notch job teaching, I am commited and know that this can be a frustrating and confusing time, I mayself have been there and can evaluate the needs of someone in need of help.
The moment when everything clicks and they completely understand what they are doing finally. As well as seeing the progress one can make.
Jocelyn and I attended the same highschool, and I swear her help with my classes saved me. Major props to her for setting aside time to work with me and help me!
I absolutely loved having Jocelyn as my tutor. Not only did she help me actually understand the material, she helped me achieve a good grade in the class.
First things first is I will assess what learning style works best with a student and move on from there to go over some practice problems and begin explaining concepts and little tips and tricks that can help students succeed.
I would say it’s best to find someone who can really connect and relate with the student, and has the ability to meet your learning needs.
