About

I love math. I have loved math since the day I learned to count. I have advanced and mastered mathematics through college Number theory. I am currently studying Abstract Mathematics at Johns Hopkins University. I was a state representative for Minnesota in the 2017 and 2018 ARML competitions and continue participating in state and local competitions. I want to pass on what I know and share my abilities to help those who need help. I am only an online tutor. With that said, I communicate through many different, interactive digital forms.

I really enjoy teaching what I know because I learn how to simplify the subject for the student/tutored and myself. I enjoy finding new ways to explain a subject because it allows for me to be more open-minded in my teaching approach, which only encourages me to constantly re-evaluate what I know and why what I know/ am teaching, is true; this is a good way for me also to connect topics and ideas I hadn't considered to be connected, expanding my knowledge and opening my research and learning to new fields of study.

    Frequently asked questions

I begin each student with a Comprehensive Assessment; this includes a quiz on specific areas in which the student needs help. This Comprehensive Assessment includes what I term “Analytical Spotter Questions” or ASQ; this helps me understand the level of understanding the student is at. It helps me understand and adjust to the general style and speed at which the student learns.

Based on the Comprehensive Assessment and ASQ(‘s) results, I will reintroduce basics and field questions the student or parent might have. I am willing to work with parents to help their children in the best way possible.

I also offer an optional lecture with study notes for those who inquire. I also have many premade assignments and homework problems I give to those who are really dedicated to succeeding.

I am a member of my school's NHS Chapter. During my time as a member, I have joined the tutoring program as a way to give back to the community. I have also led several study group sessions for kids who need help on test/exam preparation throughout the past few years. These topics/sessions range(d) from ACT and SAT math sections, AP Statistics, AP Calculus AB/BC Exam pacing and general help, competitive AMC and AIME Tests, and Math Team state and local competition preparation.

I have many years also working for Pahls Farms as a supervisor of Agricultural Produce Harvesting and Packaging. I have thorough experience working with people of all ages, across languages.

I tend to charge based on the amount of work or material involved in the subjects a student presents. I tend to gauge the price around $30/session.

I am absolutely willing to negotiate based on workload and subject matter for each student.

Lessons/ sessions last approximately 1-1.5hour. Times can vary depending on the student's needs.

Find someone who has a structured teaching plan in place but is willing and able to meet you where you are and adjust to your own pace of learning while also keeping you on track.

Do I have a backup question/ explanation for the teacher if they do not understand my first question?
