About
Hello! I am a professional engineer who loves tutoring math, science, and computer programming / web development. I've been tutoring for several years, and I particularly enjoy working with adult learners.
I also have background as a life coach, so you will find me a supportive, open-minded, and patient teacher. We'll work at your own pace and make sure you feel confident with the concepts you're studying.

We hired Danielle to help our daughter with math and this is what she has to say about Danielles tutoring:Danielle has helped me tremendously just within a few weeks! She helped me figure out my learning style when it comes to math making processing information much easier. Danielle is kind and helpful. Not to mention she can meet online, making her tutoring easy and accessible. She is just great, and I highly recommend her for anyone who needs things slowed down and simpler for better learning!

Danielle approached my learning curve by focusing on the basics and my strengths. She hasnt wasted time force feeding problems that Im presently having difficulty with and her ability to work around with a schedule of an adult learner has been a godsend.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to make the first interaction as stress-free as possible. My style is positive and supportive, but I also nudge and challenge my students to reach their full potential. Sometimes you can't always see the next step, and that's where a good tutor comes in. My background in coaching allows me to get to know new students quickly and easily, and we can get to work right away making things better. I want to know your goals for tutoring so that I can make the most impact and help you to get where you want to go. Each situation is different, and I believe that good communication right at the beginning sets everyone up for success.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and gained a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with two years in Undergraduate Honors classes (that means 4 semesters of Honors Calculus and 2 semesters of Honors Physics!). I tutored college students both 1 on 1 and in group settings during this time, including athletes. I also tutored middle- and high-school students in math and science during my college years.
Since then, I have worked for large companies in engineering and leadership roles. I have designed and led multi-day corporate training classes, and my passion for teaching has also led me to become a life coach.
I'm now in the process of a career change into software engineering.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I have a standard rate of $40/hr for my tutoring services in math, science, and computer programming. I accept PayPal or Venmo for payment.
How did you get started teaching?
I have had amazing mentors, coaches, and teachers in my life that have made a significant impact on who I am today and my current successes. I began tutoring in college, but quickly moved on to include teaching dance, dog training classes, corporate education, and life coaching. I love guiding rather than telling and seeing growth in my students.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with college students, adult learners, and middle- and high-school age students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Most of my students are in college needing help with Algebra. I really enjoy working with them!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask questions! Start communicating without feeling tied to someone. This is a relationship-based service as well as knowledge/expertise-based. If you don't get along with your tutor or if there are personality differences that make it difficult for you to learn, then you won't be successful. Do a session or two with someone and always feel free to work with someone else. This is your education and your path - you get to ask for what you need. All tutors want you to be successful, and the good ones know when they might not be a good fit for you. Be Brave and reach out! Tutoring can make a HUGE difference in your success - especially the speed of understanding.
