About

Looking for an experienced, results-oriented Test Prep Tutor? You've come to the right place! With nationwide recognition as a *TOP TUTOR* (top 4% in 2019), a master's degree (3.94 GPA), and over 25 years, hundreds of students, and thousands of hours of tutoring experience, I am able and eager to help you with your learning needs.

TEST PREP:

To help you feel well-prepared and confident come test day, we will develop an individualized plan based on your previous test results, goal score, unique challenges, and personal strengths.

During sessions, we will work on content knowledge, subject-specific strategies, anxiety reduction, error analysis, and essay-writing techniques to maximize your test score. My test prep students have earned point increases that have paved the way to top choice schools, college scholarships, and a major boost in self-confidence.

PreK-8 TUTORING:

Through observation and discussion, we'll get to the root of your student’s knowledge gaps, pacing issues, and study challenges. As needed, a skills assessment will help me design a custom tutoring program just for your student.

PROOFREADING/EDITING BY EMAIL:

Need a paper proofread and edited? No need for in-person sessions -- just send me your draft, I'll send you a quote, and we'll get it done!

HOMEWORK/SPECIAL TOPICS:

Perhaps you struggle in a class or need to improve your study skills. In addition to standardized test prep, I've helped many students with college app prep, admissions essays, career development, computer orientation, nursing studies, resume' writing, time mgmt, and homework needs. I'm always up for a new challenge!

Tutoring is truly my passion! I enjoy getting to know each student, harnessing his/her strengths, and facing the challenges head-on with patience, encouragement, and positivity. After parenting, tutoring is the best job in the world!

    Frequently asked questions

We can start with a brief assessment to set a baseline and gauge progress. Considering the length of time we'll be working together, we'll come up with a plan to cover all our bases and achieve your goals as efficiently and completely as we can.

To start, I have over 25 years of tutoring with students from preK through college and older adults. I specialize in standardized test prep but also very much enjoy working with a variety of students in diverse subject areas.

I hold a master's degree in Information Science (3.94 GPA) and hold numerous certifications related to business analysis and project management.

Test Prep (content review, error analysis, essay evaluation, anxiety reduction) => $165/hr

    Homework/Special Topics => K-8 = $85/hr, 9-12 = $95/hr, college/adult = $105/hr

Proofread/Edit by email => depends on project type and length

Group rate (2+ students) = capped at $200/hr

As a high-achiever in grade school, I helped my fellow classmates with their schoolwork. I then did a tutoring extracurricular experience as a high school senior and went on to royally bomb my first years of college.

From that experience, I learned to study smarter, not harder, and consequently earned a 3.94 GPA in my masters program.

I am grateful that I have seen both sides of the learning experience as I am a better, more compassionate tutor because of the different outcomes and perspectives I've had.

I've worked with students of all ages and learning abilities as well as many types of cognitive challenges. Most students struggle with self-motivation and confidence. I aim to help each student identify personal strengths to turn goals into reality.
