LDA Minnesota is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, families and the community affected by learning differences including learning disabilities, dyslexia, attention deficit disorders, and other learning challenges. Our knowledgeable team of tutors have advanced training and education in helping those who struggle with reading, math, writing, test-taking, study skills, and more. Over the past five years, I have worked as a licensed elementary teacher in diverse roles. I had two years in my own classroom, followed by three years in specialist roles. Throughout this time, I have especially enjoyed opportunities to tutor both students who need some reinforcement of concepts, as well as those looking for a challenge. I am comfortable teaching all subjects K-8, and have experience with public, private, and homeschool education. As your child's tutor, I will always provide encouragement, foster a love of learning, and provide an individualized approach.

I have been a teacher for 25 years. I have taught 6th grade Language Arts (reading and writing) for 17 years, 2nd grade for 3 years, and Reading Strategies to students who are below grade level for 5 years. I have a Master’s in Literacy. My passion is working with students who are below grade level in their reading skills. I love teaching reading to any age, no matter what level you are! I also enjoy teaching writing skills and English/grammar/speaking skills.

I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Master's in Nanoscience. I tutored college level writing and Literature during my undergraduate degree, and I taught biochemistry lab classes while completing my graduate degree. While I enjoyed teaching, I found working 1:1 with students to be the most rewarding in a tutoring type setting. It is a lot of fun to delve into assignments, and help bridge the gaps between the lectures and assignments. My goal is to foster a fun and positive learning environment, and give students the tools they need to complete the material for current and future assignments.

I am a college student currently attending at The UoM. I have always loved school and am blessed to be able to continue studying a subject that I love. I am new to tutoring but I am confident in abilities. In high school and prior, I was placed in advanced classes for english, math, and science, and I was able to graduate with my associates through the PSEO program. I also have younger siblings whom I have helped with homework over many years and am frequently assisting classmates when asked. As someone who can relate to students struggling to grasp a concept or feel motivated to work, I think the most important aspect of learning is to enjoy

I enjoy providing personal attention and professional help. I am a native English speaker but became bilingual many years ago through a long period of study at La Escuela, as well as through additional education and practice. I have been a teacher and youth development professional for 25 years ago. I love to make learning fun. That way, learning is not only more enjoyable, but more effective. Spanish is a great language to learn, and it's easy to practice and get better at it every day....
