What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first step is to understand the student and try to ascertain what overarching problems he/she has with math. It is extremely important that I set the right tutoring expectations with students upfront to ensure realistic learning outcomes. Finally, I try to develop a cadence with students to ensure the right amount of time is allocated to meet their needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics/Computer Science, a Masters degree in Management, and currently working on a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership. I taught mathematics for 6 years as an adjunct instructor at the university level.

My rate is $50 an hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I actually started tutoring while in college as a means to earn money to pay for my classes. Through tutoring, I discovered my passion and love for helping others learn math.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with high school and college students but also adult learners.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a tutor who will take the time to understand your unique math challenges and needs. Your tutor should also work with you to develop a plan that will allow you to meet your individual learning goals.
