Perspectives In Tutoring
About
I started my tutorial practice while I was still teaching; and have a perspective from the "inside" of schools and curriculum standards as well as an appreciation for learning differences. I have an undergraduate degree in English, and two graduate degrees; one in Learning Disabilities and one in Clinical Psychology. My passion lies in understanding executive function as it relates to why students learn and what impedes their learning. Is it organization, time management, task initiation, dyslexia, test anxiety? My practice also grows an understanding for and assists parents to appreciate how they can support the learning process at home. Additionally, I work with the student's teachers by way of introduction and making myself available in order to unify messages for our students.
