About

I have been tutoring for the past 8 years and have over 175 hours of teaching experience in the subjects. I am familiar with writing lesson plans as well. I have been an academic coach and a peer mentor, so I have experience teaching study skills as well. I have been a college writing tutor for four years now as well. I am passionate about helping students learn because it brings me joy seeing students understand concepts they have been struggling with and to help them move on to the next big idea in a subject. It is my goal in life that every student finds help and is able to achieve academically.

Frequently asked questions

My first meeting with a student is getting to know them as a person, their interest, and their strengths and weakness academically. This will help me create lesson plans structured around them for future tutoring sessions.

I have completed four years of content in education, english, and social studies at a four-year institution of higher education. I will be graduating in May 2019 with my teaching certificate and my bachelor's degree. I have been working for about eight years as a tutor for all ages. I have over 175 hours of teaching and lesson planning experience due.

My starting rate is $10.00 per hour. The price goes up by three dollars every three months lessons go on for.

I got started tutoring through an after-school program I participated in while I was in middle school. I became so passionate about tutoring that I decided to go to school for teaching.

I work with students of all ages. I do not have much experience working with students who have learning disabilities, but I am willing to tutor students with learning disabilities.

I have been tutoring first and second graders in a literacy program to improve their reading and writing skills. It is an honorable experience that I am extremely fond of. I have learned a lot from participating in this program.

My biggest piece of advice to look for the teacher who understands you as a student and knows the content. If the teacher is not able to understand how you work as a student, they cannot tailor the lesson to you. It is important that the teacher knows the content as well to properly inform you while teaching.

I think it is important that students think about what they need help with the most. This is important because students need to know what they do not know about so they can tell their teacher what they are struggling with. Also. it is important that students ask themselves if they are improving until the teacher's supervision. If not, then the student needs to communicate with their teacher that she needs to change the lesson.
