About
I am a seasoned certified teacher with 15+ years of teaching exprience. My passion for students has been the springboard to the success of my teaching career. I have a variety of proven teaching strategies to meet the various learning styles of each individual student. I have worked with numerous groups of students who come from diverse backgrounds and varied abilities. I go above and beyond to make sure student understand the material that I have been hired to teach using manipulatves if needed.
Seeing students learning the intended material to be learned. Watching the "lightbulb" go on by seeing them smile as they say "oh... I get it" or something of that nature. Helping a student to develop a love of learning as well as watching their self esteem and confidence build. At the very least (typically when a student is terrifed of passing a class) seeing his/her attitude change toward learning something they preiously told me they can't do.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I had a student who was an athelete. She wanted to learn to read better. With student's permission, I spoke to the physial eduation teacher to arrange additional time to teach this student to read better. We spent part of my prep hour and some of her physical eduation time reading daily for many months. Her reading level inreased three grades and she managed to still get a A in physical education. I am so proud of this young lady for giving up time in her favorite class (phys ed).
