Having taught ESL both in the US and in Haiti, I have a fondness for English language learners and I truly enjoy helping you to gain greater ease and fluency. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before we meet, please write a short paragraph describing what you wish to gain from our work together. This will not only help us to set goals, but give me a better understanding of your writing ability. Our first session will be a full-hour in which we will set goals and objectives for our work together.
We will meet weekly to go over your progress. In certain cases we may meet more or less frequently, depending on the timeline for your project. I tailor my approach to each individual student based on language ability, comprehension, grade level and project goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I possess a bachelor's degree in Journalism and English Literature, and a Master's in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution.
I have been a substitute teacher and tutor on and off for over a decade; taught English as a Second Language in the US and Haiti; and have worked as a journalist and grant-writer.

I charge $70 for the first session and $50/hour flat rate. Students typically pay four sessions in advance.
