About
I am an independent tutor. I work with students and find out how they learn and teach the student how they learn.
I am a certified teacher with endorsements in Math and ELA K-8th grade. I am pursuing my masters in Special Education Mild to Moderate disabilities. I have experience working with students who may find school challenging.

Renee is a great teacher by making learning fun! My daughter has advanced her math and science skills because Renee is able to break it down for her using simple terms and examples that are relevant to her. This method makes it fun and interactive. I strongly recommend Renee for any subject.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I begin with a new student I take time to get to know them; find out their interests, and hobbies. This conversation sets a good rapport and builds up to educational rapport.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my bachelors in education from Oakland University. I hold a professional teaching certification from the State of Michigan. I am also enrolled in the master program at Western Governors University.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I begin at $40 an hour. For multiple hours or sessions longer then an hour depending on the prep time that is needed is how I base the longer rates on. From past experience is it just the $40 rated over the time over the hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I always wanted to be a teacher. I followed my dream when I was in elementary school.
