I am a current graduate student pursuing my degree in International Law and Diplomacy. Although my professional career focuses on international affairs, I have always had a passion for writing and languages.
I have been a tutor for my peers in English and Spanish since the start of my undergrad at Michigan State University in 2013. I have experience in review, editing, grammar, and also conversational work for English as a second language students.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It is important to access the students skills at the begining to understand their strengths and highlight areas that need improvement. We will build from there depending on the students needs and overall goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was a peer tutor during undergrad at Michigan State University. Once I started my graduate education I began to teach English to younger children, helping homework assignments, grammar, review and editing, along with conversational if english was a second language.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge $15 an hour for standard courses. This fee many vary depending on the students needs and on the time frame of the class.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when I tutored my peers in Spanish during my undergraduate expirience. This helped me solidify my own knowledge of the subject and helped me find a passion for teaching. Since the start of the COVID pandemic, I started teaching English as a way to keep up with quarantine and sharpen my own skills. I have continued with classes since then.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have primarily worked with students who needed additional assistance for school courses. I have expirience tutoring for both Spanish and Enlgish courses as a second language. I have recently also assisted in essay review and editing in my university's writing lab.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
It is crucial to identify what goals a student has at the start of tutoring. Understanding this will help us better address challenges and reach an improvement.
