About

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from De Anza College, California, with a degree in Math and Computer Science.

I have over 18 years of experience teaching Math and Computer Theory & Repair. This includes over 6 years Math Tutoring experience plus 6 years Teaching Math classes. I work with younger students, older students, and adults as well - covering anything from Beginning Math to Pre-Calculus. I have worked with several students from Tutors.com, and all have shown significant improvement in their grade and comprehension.

I will go over the material with your student and create Homework and Practice Tests as required. I will show your student Study Tools and methods of organizing notes and study guides, as necessary. I have a great Card System that works for keeping information and formulas easy to find, that will grow as you learn. I use physical pieces to represent Math Concepts in a visual form whenever possible, such as plastic pieces for fractions and building 3D shapes; quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies for percent; beads for adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division; rulers and number lines; etc.

I love seeing students succeed!

My first teaching experience was with a summer program teaching computer theory and repair, math, and electronics for students age 6 to 13.

I then taught adults computer theory and repair in the industry.

I have always liked to teach and have done much informal tutoring.  I have been tutoring formally for over 6 years.

Adults, and children ages 6 to 18.

I have worked for the Wayne/Oakland Science Olympiad (WOSO), Elementary and Middle School Dostudents, since 2015.  I write and proctor the Astronomy Event, and work with the Coaches who prepare their students for the Event.

Science Olympiad is dedicated to expanding the science curriculum beyond the classroom, creating a technology-literate workforce and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by students.  It requires teamwork, science, and engineering skills.

Do you plan to continue taking additional math classes on an ongoing basis or do you plan to just pass one class or one test? Because each math subject builds upon the previous subject, the teaching style and study materials you prepare with your tutor will be different in each case.
