About
This past year I completed my 12th year of teaching, and I have taught 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades in a diverse range of schools. I have a K-8 professional Michigan teaching certificate with additional endorsements in math and language arts. I teach in a relatable, organized manner targeted to student needs.
I love being able to inspire students and help them realize their potential. I enjoy helping students make connections across curriculum and gain confidence as they grow academically.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
As a teacher, it is very important to me to establish a healthy relationship with my students. I also want to know where my students are at academically in each applicable subject so that I can plan material to fit their specific needs. My first tutoring session would be to get to know the background of the student and needs in the requested subject area. My plan for tutoring would be to address misconceptions at hand as well as provide strong instruction in skills and processing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Within my elementary education program, I had a mathematics major and a language arts minor. Both of these are endorsements on my professional Michigan teaching certificate.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a wide variety of students from various demographics, including families from more than 40 countries in an international setting. I have worked in both private and public school settings. I have completed my twelfth year of teaching upper elementary students, and am currently an educational assistant for kindergarten through fourth grade.
