The most exciting part about math is seeing it come full circle. Math is endlessly connected to the world around us. I have a passion for teaching students in a way that makes learning fun.
Using in depth explorations and easy to understand tips and tricks, your student will gain skills in math that will help them in and out of the classroom.
I have been teaching mathematics to 6th-8th grade students in the public school setting for nearly 3 years. I am a certified, highly qualified educator that is currently teaching 6th and 7th grade math following US Common Core and Michigan State standards. This past year, I recieved the highest level of review a teacher can get on their teaching observations.
I use numerous tactics to engage my students in math that will surely have your student excited and engaged with the content.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Teaching is all about relationships. Students dont care how much you know, unless they know how much you care. Even in an online setting I will ensure that you child is heard, accepted, and knows that I care about their success.
I will spend time with basic concepts, to assess what your child knows, so that I know where to begin and how to assist moving forward.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a highly qualified, certified educator in the state of Michigan with a valid Michigan teaching certificate.
Have taught and am currently teaching in a public school setting for nearly 3 years.

How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching when I was in high school, tutoring other students in my math classes. From their I developed a passion for teaching and learning. I pursued a degree in educaiton at Central Michigan University and have been teaching now for nearly three years.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have been working with students grades k-12 from all levels of socio economic status, with a variety of learning disablities, backgrounds, and ethnicities.
