About
I have recently completed a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor psychology! I have been tutoring for over three years, across various age groups. From kindergarteners to college agr students! I have taken math courses up to calculus, advanced college level English, and various science classes. I work in the downriver area and I have helped students achieve success in classes they were once failing without tutoring! With hard work and dedication, a student is able to achieve adequate educational standards.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually assist the student with homework by working together with them to learn a new concept, and once I feel we have reviewed enough, I challenge them to try and solve the question on their own. If they are stuck, I will give them hints. If necessary, I will give homework so the student can review outside of tutoring sessions. I like to use analogies and references to help the student better remember what they are learning, and it always tends to improve their memory!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored both professionally and privately. I tutored college level science courses such as cell biology and microbiology. For private tutoring and volunteering I have done elementary level english and math, as well as middle school and high school for both of these subjects. English and math are my strongest subjects, and I never received below an A in any English or Math course from middle school up until college.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge $20 per hour for a single student. I think that is very reasonable considering my experience and level of education. I would not like to go below $20 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I started as a tutor in college through the university’s biology department!
