English With Mina

As a former ESL student myself, I assure that I can provide any level English speaker certainty in the quality of my work. My passion lies in helping students write great papers whether that be through checking their grammar, helping properly cite sources, or even pulling out their suppressed ideas through brainstorm technique.

Honestly speaking, I have gained my tutoring experience through out my life as a regular civilian. As a woman born in former Yugoslavia, raised in Germany, and later coming to the US, I have had my fair share of grasping native languages and later assisting those around me (i.e. family, friends and/or aquaintances from my native country) in learning the language(s) spoken. My professional tutoring experience lies in having tutored English at a university level for a community college as a professional tutor, to having taugh English overseas in South Korea where I obtained 2 certificates for my training, participation, and successful completion of the Konkuk Uni ICE Program.

What qualifies me to be an English tutor is my own experience in mastering the language as a former ESL student, my experience teaching over seas, and my experience tutoring at a college level since 2014.

What I enjoy most is getting to know my students on a level where I know how they function in the writing aspect, and based on that, I can further recommend how to continue to prosper with their work. I also enjoy getting feedback from them after they've received an assignment and show me what they excelled in, or likewise, lacked in. Either are a great learning experience for me as well.
