I am a Speech Language Pathologist with a deep background in literature, Engish-language arts, and music, having taught private voice for two decades before changing careers. I worked almost exclusively with middle school and high school students. In addition to my MA in SLP from WMU, I have a MM and Doctorate in music ftom UofM. Music students went on to have careers in the field. Try a tutor with a proven track record, and a great rapport with tweens and teens. I love teaching, and love language and writing. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I get to know them in an intro session. We talk about common grounds, goals, difficulties, and strengths. I begin to work with them to check out learning style/s, and we form a "contract@ about what each of our expectations are. Then, we get started!
