About
I love teaching students about Math. I think that so many students struggle with Math specifically because they don't understand the why and the how of it. I enjoy explaining that to them and seeing the lightbulb go off when they understand something! Math can be really frustrating, and I think it's achieveable for everyone. It just takes time - time that I am willing to put in!

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Secondary Education in Math and French. I am certified to teach Math in Michigan. I have had whole-class and one-on-one experience with students from all different levels of understanding.
I had a long-term substitute teaching position for six months where I taught Algebra 2 to students who were really struggling. This taught me how to reach students who have given up on understanding Math and help it become more achieveable to them.
How did you get started teaching?
I've wanted to be a teacher ever since I was little. Since I just graduated and got certified, I will be looking for my first real teaching job soon!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have mostly worked with students who have a difficult time understanding math. I am able to explain one idea several different ways until I find one that makes sense to the student.
