I am a senior in high school, I am currently taking calculus 2 and math is something that has come easy to me most of my life. I work quite well with children and am able to adapt to their preferred teaching method.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I do is get to know them, every student is different and I adapt my way of teaching to best fit their way of understanding. I also value the comfort of the student, learning without comfort is significantly harder than learning in an environment that they feel comfortable, my goal is to create that environment for them.
After getting to know them, I will test them, figure out their strong suits and which areas need work. We will then approach the areas that need work and learn how to solve them confidently.
I'm not just teaching math, I will be teaching the student concepts such as growth mindset and different ways to approach challenges along the way so they can utilize these qualities in their math process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a senior in high school and have been taking advanced math since first grade, I am currently taking calculus 2 and I have a good understanding of all of the subjects that come before it.
How did you get started teaching?
I started with my younger sister, she was struggling in math, I used my resources and approaches towards teaching with her and it worked quite effectively and she can now do her math confidently.
What types of students have you worked with?
Elementary and Middle school students.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone that you feel comfortable around, it is important to be yourself and not fear your teacher.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

"Have I tried as much as I can?"
